Brahea armata ( Blaue Hesperidenpalme), silberblaue bizarr wirkende Fächerpalme mit tief geschlitzten Blättern . Liebt trockene und heiße Sommer; voll sonniger Standort. Kann auch im trockenen Wintergarten gehalten werden.

Herkunftsland ist Mexiko und Mittelamerika ; Kälteresistent bis ca. - 10° C. Maximale Wachstumshöhe ca. 15 m, Vermehrung durch Samen. Wasserbedarf ist eher gering. Nährstoffbedarf normal. Niedrige Luftfeuchtigkeit. Sie ist auch unter dem Synonym Erythea armata bekannt und blüht bereits nach wenigen Jahren . Als Abwehr gegen die starke Sonneneinstrahlung in ihrer Heimat schützt sie sich mit ihrer silberblauen Wachsschicht.
